Waved

If I ever needed a summer,
now was the perfect time for it to arrive.
Relationships begone,
if dreams did become a reality,
now was ideal.
Scenes from the night shift into the day,
a prophetic predicament.
The water shifts over
in the river
in hesitant leaves
in the wind,
and the aftertaste of thai iced tea
finds its way into the minuscule cracks
between my teeth.
